The Idea

Into the City, a student organization at the University of Cincinnati has collaborated with Seven Hills Neighborhood House to create an after school art program for underprivileged youth. This program creates an opportunity for the students to express themselves with art and to stay off the streets.

The Specifics

With the funds we would be able to keep the art program sustainable. The funds for the program are through fundraisers and donations but the money is used quickly to purchase art supplies. With the money, we can stock up on art supplies and not have to worry about if we will be able to continue the program and for the volunteers to not pay out of their pockets. This past month we held a student art show at the neighborhood house. The money could also be used to continue these art shows and used towards promotional materials for the community to come to Over the Rhine. Cincinnati has a lot of history and art culture and the money can be used to take the students of campus and to learn and create art out in the community.
