The Idea

Engage West Oakland residents to create pocket parks on their blocks. Begin the process by presenting information in the form of talks, video and images of existing pocket park, landscape, and art & ideas.

The Specifics

I would use the money to fund my time to research and put together a presentation, which will be presented at schools and community group meetings. The aim of the presentations is to attract interested people. Working together, we could actually create some demonstration pocket parks, and seek funding for further projects.

Research will include: organizing information on practical and legal aspects; gathering visual materials and compiling them in a concise and engaging form; identifying target audience and arranging presentations.

Implementation funded by this money: preparing and holding some presentations, and possibly creating 1 demonstration pocket park.
